The Muse Project KC - Model Information

The Muse Project KC offers models much more than just great pictures.  If you are an experienced model looking to update your portfolio or a beginner looking to gain experience, you will be able to take something from our sessions.  Each session offers something new, different themes, locations and professionals help make each session different from the previous.  Our hair stylists and makeup artists will apply two looks of hair and make up to compliment the theme, and you will get the chance to shoot in 3 – 4 outfits.  You will get to work with about 10 photographers and each one is required to provide you with 3 edited images.  Some photographers are very experienced and provide specific coaching and direction, while others will allow you to be natural.  You will become familiar with many shooting styles and techniques.  Many images from past Muse Projects have gone print in advertisements for many of the businesses that we partner with.  If one of your images are selected, actual print work is an amazing addition to any portfolio.  The Muse Project KC, above all else, is a learning experience.  At The Muse Project, you can network, ask questions, and make valuable connections and lasting relationships with other industry professionals.

Michele S - Featured Model

Michele was first introduced to The Muse Project through a close friend, whom has attended multiple Muse sessions. Muse, being highly recommended to try when first beginning modeling, Michele decided to attend her first shoot in March 2009. Some things she remembers about her first Muse Session include the seemingly chaotic atmosphere! There were Models, MUAs, photographers everywhere, but the calm and cool demeanor by Trevor and Amy Goodwin help the process move along smoothly! But the thing she remembers most, is how understanding and patient the photographers were with first time models. some of the things Michele gained from attending Muse is making connections with different photographers and MUA's for networking and possible future work, experience in adjusting to each photographers different styles of shooting, and the confidence to continue shooting. Michele strongly recommends The Muse Project KC to anyone interested in getting started in modeling.

Lesley G - Featured Model

Lesley was introduced to The Muse Project through My Space.  She has maintained a genuine interest in modeling over the years but had no real experience.  Upon discovering The Muse Project and hearing about an interesting theme, she attended the pinup shoot in March 2009. When thinking back to that shoot, she remembers underestimating the magnitude of the shoot and was completely intimidated and impressed all at the same time! She remembers sitting there in hair and makeup thinking “I can’t do this, I can’t do this” but at the end of the day, with the help of Amy and Trevor and all of the patience and  helpful advice from the photographers, she was able to walk away from that shoot with her head held high.  Lesley has gained more than just images from attending Muse she also made connections with photographers and other models. Most importantly, she gained confidence which she believes is essential in modeling. After shooting at The Muse Project and making such great connections, she has continued to do more shoots, building a portfolio and looks forward to future work.
