Regular Session - Focus on Spring Fashion - Feb 22, 2009- Paul Mitchell School

This is our first of 4 Seasonal Themed Sessions in 2009. The goal of these sessions will be to produce images for our boutiques and clothing designers to use in their upcoming advertisements.

The Muse Project Kansas City is venturing across the state line for the first time in 2009! Session 2.2 will be at Paul Mitchell the School in Overland Park, Kansas. This location is HUGE and has unique shooting spots through out. There is also enough room to comfortably place makeup artists and hair stylists and have a separate area for wardrobe.

We will have 20 minute break out sessions at lunch time at our February Session. We will break up into four groups and we have arranged a learning opportunity for everyone involved. We have some information provided below and we will add more as it becomes available. These valuable sessions are available to everyone who attends our February session at no extra charge. Photographer Session: Create Backlighting

We have all seen images where photographers used lighting methods that created great silhouettes yet shows details of the models face as well. Joe has a firm grasp of the concept and has created some amazing images using the technique. Joe is going to facilitate the breakout session for photographers at our February session and will discuss the lighting set up for images like this. This session is an additional perk for our photographers, please sign up for our February session to take advantage of this offer.

Hair Stylist Session: Session Work

Fresh off of her trip to Las Vegas, Jen has some exciting information to share with the Hair Stylists that attend our February session. Jen attended a Redken seminar focused on trendy styling. This is where she obtained the inspiration for Alexis' hair style in the picture to the left. She will also discuss session etiquette and creating styles that get attention. Model, Boutique & Designer Session: Story Boarding

Alyce is a Professional Modeling Coach, Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist and two time winner of the International Modeling and Talent Association Best Photo for Hair and Makeup. She brings the experience she gained from working with clients such Janet Jackson, Rod Stuart & Cher to our February Muse session. She will provide a lesson on using story boards to create your ideal image. Story boards are the perfect way to communicate to everyone involved the vision you are trying to create. Mariah used Alyce's technique to help create the image to the left. Alyce will also discuss tips and techniques models should follow to make sure they are always in shooting condition... you never know when you are going to be called to service, so you should always be ready.
